About Us

My name is Amanda and my husband is Waylon Wagner.   We live in a small town called Bellville about a hour northwest of Houston.  I have been a professional dog groomer since 2001.  My husband also shares my passion for dogs.   We are NOT a puppy mill by any means. Cheyenne an English Mastiff, which is on her way to becoming a champion under our handler Colette Livingston. Felon are new baby boy from Cheyenne's first litter.  Gabbie, Jesabel and Diesel they are American Bulldogs.    We have a Dogue de Bordeaux, Dodge, Pit bull and our oldest dog a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Monte, who runs the house.  When we built our house we added a "dog room"  with heating and air conditioning.  Like I said these are our babies.  Everyone gets to come inside and they each get turns sleeping with us.  They also have about a half acre or more of fenced in property to get their exercise.  All puppies will be raised inside in our oversized laundry room and later will have access to a smaller fenced in area in the backyard.  They will be handled very often and will be socialized around other dogs.  We never have and never will cross-breed between our English Mastiff and American Bulldogs or any other breed.

MORE:

For over a year we were on a waiting list for a mastiff puppy.  The first female miscarried and then couldn't get pregnant again.  So when Reba became pregnant and had her puppies we were so excited.  We bought Cheyenne from top breeder Susann Everett at Beowulf Mastiffs in New York.  We had her shipped down here and she has been an awsome dog.  She loves people and you can actually see it in her eyes when she looks at you.  She weighs about 170lbs but she, of course:-) thinks she's a chihuahua and will lay on top of you in bed or on the couch.  She is only one major away from becoming a Champion.  Her first major was at the Houston Reliant dog show which she got it by beating out the males.  I first saw Gabbie when she was eight months old and she came in for a bath.  I fell in love with her.  I called my husband and told him he has to come see this dog.  He came and he too fell in love with her.  She's got a personality that makes you fall in love with her.  Well, turned out her actual owner went away to college so his mom had her and needed to find a home for her.  She told us we could have her but having other dogs and her being an older puppy I didn't know how it would work.  Meanwhile, months went by and she later called and said if we can't take her she was going to the pound.  So of course we couldn't say no and we took her home and she fit in great with Dodge and Cheyenne, so we kept her.  She didn't have any training, obedience or leash, and she is a very hyper dog, so we have been working on that and she is getting better.  Monte did not like her at first but now that she has calmed down SOME he tolerates her but she absolutely loves him.   She is CKC and NKC registered.  Jesabell and Diesel are from Gabbies first litter with Duncan.  They turned out very nice and have good temperments.

Our Policies and Info on the Breed

English Mastiffs and American Bulldogs like any other dogs are NOT for everyone.  If you want one just because they look "cool"  don't bother contacting us.  They also have their faults as well as their qualities.

English Mastiffs are a very large breed.  They were bred for the purpose of guarding and still have that instinct bred in them.  They were also used in wars and for hunting large game.  They are not a calm breed, they do like to run and play.  Also they do drool and it can be slung long lengths.   They are also good with kids but because of their size they could accidently hurt them.  This is a giant breed which stands between 27 to 30 inches and weighs 150lbs to 250lbs.  It is very important that these dogs to not become over weight because it puts more strain on their hips, elbows, knees and heart.  Also a good quality dog food should be fed, we use Back to Basic and Nutro.

The  American Bulldog is a highly active breed that was and still is used for catching livestock and protecting property so they need plenty of exercise.  They can make an excellent family pet if brought up properly. Although, they can be hyper and may accidentally hurt a young child, so training is a must.  There are two "types" the standard, Scott which is more for performance and classic, Johnson which is more bully like.  With the two different types their weight and height can vary but should be between 60 to 125lbs and 20 to 28 inches at the withers.

We will not sell a puppy to anyone who is not fully comitted in taking great care of the dog its WHOLE life.  Providing food, water, shelter, exercise and love every single day.  We will ask you to PLEASE feed a GOOD dog food not foods like Ol' Roy or store/value brand foods.  All puppies must have regular yearly vaccines throughout their life, which could be 10+years.  NO puppy will be sold for ANY illegal purposes so don't even bother with us.  NO puppy will be sold to anyone with the intent of chaining it up it's whole life.  Also we will not sell to anyone who is going to resell our puppy and puppy mill people DO NOT even bother contacting us either. I want ALL of my puppies to go to loving caring homes for the rest of their lives.  Thank you,

Amanda and Waylon Wagner
